Alma Cottage has a great character and is of the highest quality - ETC 4 stars. Dating back to the 18th Century, it has low beamed ceilings and stone stairs, but a high standard of modern comforts. In winter the cast-iron stove is a cosy addition to the central heating, while in summer the south-facing stone-walled garden is a real sun trap. The village of Kirkby Malzeard is a friendly one, and guests particularly like our local pub, the Henry Jenkins, and the high-class butcher across the road. Fish and chips, a light lunch or tea, or a full evening meal are all available in our street. The wonderful scenery of the moors and dales surrounds the village - you can hear the curlew call from our garden! Many local stately homes, heritage sites, gardens, market towns, picturesque villages and a wealth of other attractions leave most of our guests eager to come again.
