Description

Robert Blake, the owner of Anvil Cottage, opened his well known business "Anvil Antiques" in this grade 2 lised 16th century former artisans cottage over 40 years ago. Originally converted back to residential use in the 1980's the interior has been extensively refurbished and brought into the 21st century but retaining much of it's traditional charm. The property can be described as both tiny and compact but it does now offer comfortable, light and airy accommodation for up to 4 adults. (both the ground floor and the first floor have high ceilings and an abundance of windows). The steep stairs make it unsuitable for both the very young and the infirm. The cottage has been carefully furnished with quality pine and country furniture sympathetic to the beamed interior. Comfort and convenience have been our guide lines. To the rear of the cottage is a lovely secluded courtyard style garden, with pretty flower beds and a herb garden. A quiet seating area is in one corner of the garden, as well as a patio set. Secured in the shed is a large parasol for the patio set, for those hot sunny days and bbq.
