Anam Cré Studio is situated in Silver Birch woods in the beautiful Ballygriffin Valley just 3 miles from the popular town of Kenmare. A great vantage point from which to tour the Ring of Kerry and close to the Beara Peninsula. There are 8 bedrooms ensuite, with reception, balcony, open plan kitchen/living room. A great sense of space within created by the vaulted ceiling in reception, the sculpted elm stairway and the long windows. Ceramic artwork throughout creates a unique ambience. Work by local artists and the use of lots of glass and woods lends to Anam Cre house a special ambiance. Ideal for family gatherings and get togethers. When not 'pottering about' in the studio or sitting by the turf fire in a Traditional Irish atmosphere, guests can explore the surrounding woods & streams, hike mountains offering magnificent views or observe the distinctive local flora & fauna. The proprietor, Anne O'Shea is a skilled and artistic potter, so the mainstream activity is wheel-thrown pottery, however, a wide variety of interesting and artistic subjects can be arranged for individuals or small groups during weekends. Examples include, hillwalking, drawing, sketching & painting. Other possible options include photography, building with hemp, yoga, art therapy and textile workshops.
