The Moorings and Winander are ideally located at Waterhead Bay, Ambleside on the shores of lake Windermere in an attractive row of Victorian villas built of Lakeland stone in 1880. The beaches, steamer pier and jetties of Lake Windermere are a 70 yard stroll across a pedestrian area. The pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops of Waterhead are within a minutes walk. Skeghyll Woods with its walks and bike trails, is just yards from the door. Historic Ambleside with its galleries, shops, restaurants and museum is just a short walk away. The spectacular mountain scenery of The Langdale Pikes can be seen from Waterhead Bay. The Langdale Valley is just a sort drive away.
