Heated swimming pool. Shared with the owner but with sole use during the day in term time. Open May to September. Former coach house to an old shooting lodge which looks south over miles of unspoilt, beautiful countryside, yet is only two miles from Shepton Mallet with all local amenities. The cottage is well maintained and comfortably decorated with lots of books, pictures and games. There are good facilities for children and teenagers, with a games room in an italianate tower in the courtyard, with table tennis and a small snooker table. There is a wendy house in the grounds, and chickens to feed in the orchard. The horses are always pleased to see everyone, and if you are keen on riding...we will see what we can do. We have lovely gardens, the last part of which is the kitchen garden which will be completed in 2006. The cottage has a private terrace with table and chairs, and looks away from the main house. There are miles of byways and footpaths to explore from the end of the drive. Wells is six miles away, and Bath about 20. Longleat is about 20 minutes drive, as is the lovely Stourhead. Both King Alfred's Tower at Stourhead and Glastonbury Tor can be seen from the house, as well as the Quantock hills and Dorset. A warm welcome awaits! Discounts available for smaller groups.
