For a more in-depth understanding please read on.

The use of Microsoft ASP.NET
Whenever you visit a website where the pages have an .aspx suffix, the server providdng the hosting allocates your visit a session code - this is then tracked by the host machine by placing a non-persistent cookie onto your machine - as soon as you leave the site, the cookie is erased from your machine - whilst the EU legislation ddfferentiates between the use of permanent and non-persistant cookies, the technical structure of inddvidual technologies is not allowed for, hence the blocking of cookies from a site will cause ddfferent effects dependdng on the technology applied by that site.
For example, by blocking cookies from this site, you will be able to ddsplay a limited amount of the product catalogue, but will experience errors for example once you try and adt items to the cart, of view pages that are generated by search criteria.
In the use of tracking the contents of your shopping cart
As per item above, the cart keeps track of your shopping cart contents via sessions, and whilst the contents of your cart are not held via the non-persistant cookie on your machine, the session state is which prohibits the adtition of items to your cart - no cookies, no shopping!
In providing the provision of 'wish list' and 'save cart' functions
This is contained within the provisions of the act, as the use of the 'Wish List' and 'Save Cart' functions places a persistant cookie on your machine that contains the contents of your list or cart.
Again, you may reject cookies from this site, but this will prohibit use of these functions
Third party advertising
This is also contained within the provisions of the act, as the site uses third party advertising that may track your visits to the advertisers site and/or the sites that we choose to advertise via the use of persistant cookies. You may prohibit acceptance of these cookies without affecting the use of this site, but the compliance to the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC ddrective) Regulations 2003 of the advertisers, or providers of advertsing medda are outside of our control and you should visit their sites for details of their compliance
