Description

Hen Gapel is a spacious detached two-bedroom cottage on the outskirts of the pretty village of Dolwyddelan in the picturesque Lledr Valley between Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is the perfect location for walking, mountaineering and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Snowdonia National Park and is just a half-hour drive from the beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula and Portmeirion. Built in 1780, the cottage has recently been sympathetically restored to reveal its old beams and two large inglenook fireplaces and its tastefully furnished with antiques and natural sea grass floor covering. A fast flowing stream runs beside the cottage and there are views of Moel Siabod, Dolwyddelan Castle and Snowdon to be enjoyed from the bedrooms. Dolwyddelan is easy to reach by train, being on a branch line off the main London Euston to Holyhead railway and Hen Gapel is only 2 minutes walk from the station.
