Set in wonderful scenery away from the crowds, the cottage is the ideal base to explore the North Western lakes and fells and the Solway Coast - An Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a large dining/sitting room with a wood burning stove and a beautiful view. The cottage has it's own small private garden within the grounds of Woodlands Country House. The hotel dining room and bar are available to guests if required. Woodlands is an excellent base from which to explore the Lakes, be it a gentle stroll up Binsey Fell or a more strenuous ascent of Skiddaw, the third highest peak in the Lake District. In addition to good local walking, there are many cycling routes , from easy going, quiet country lanes to strenuous rides up rocky fellsides!
