Wighton is an attractive and rural village, ideally situated as a base to explore the North Norfolk coast. The village has a fine church, an extremely good art gallery, and a pub. Built in the eighteenth century, of brick and flint, Carpenters Cottage is located at the centre of the village adjoining the village pub. Local villages and towns nearby that are worth a visit include histroic Walsingham with its shrine, Binham with its Abbey, Langham with its glass works and Thursford with its steam collection and annual concerts. Wells-Next-The-Sea is the nearest and is an interesting mix of harbour front amusement arcades, fish and chips, good general shopping and a lovely old part of town.
