Description

Nestling at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment above the Vale of Berkeley and the River Severn, Lance Cottage is a perfect base for touring the South West. The Cotswold Way runs nearby, and there are many footpaths from your doorstep. Ancient woodlands join the open Common by which Lance Cottage is situated. The cows that graze the Common in the summer are joined by deer, foxes and badgers. In May nightingales can be heard from the bedroom windows. Owls regularly hunt on the open Common, and skylarks, cuckoos and woodpeckers nest nearby. Rare flora are to be found a stones throw away. There are many National Trust properties in the area as well as sleepy hamlets, antique shops, stately homes and crafts centres to explore.
